Dreams and Visions of the Dying ~ Dr. Christopher Kerr

In a 2015 Ted Talk, Dr. Christopher Kerr, CEO of The Center for Hospice & Palliative Care, explained his own awakening to the reality of deathbed and near-death visions. In 1999, Dr. Kerr was a relatively new doctor of hospice patients. One day, he said to Nancy, a nurse in his hospice named Nancy, that a terminally ill patient named Tom still had quality time ahead if given IV antibiotics and other fluids. Nancy spoke from her years of experience with hospice patients telling him he was incorrect. When Dr. Kerr asked why, she said “Because he’s seeing his deceased mother.” Nancy knew that Tom’s end-of-life visions had meaning. They were real.
